When the world of elves meets that of responsible tourism...
It seems that some choices are self-evident. Here in La Martais, nestled among apple trees, hedgerows, and tall grass, this self-evident choice took the form of a small step... or rather, a leap of faith toward a platform called GreenGo.
Since our opening, we've had one conviction: it's possible to welcome guests without damaging our surroundings. Better still, we believe that a B&B can be a place of sharing, transmission, and even regeneration—for both humans and nature.
It was therefore only natural that we took the step towards GreenGo, a platform that doesn't just promote stays, but stays that make sense.
🌱 A house set in nature
Our cottage, Au Lutin Pommé, lives up to its name. Located in a natural area, it opens onto nearly two hectares of meadows, groves, an orchard, and secret corners where children love to run around... and where some say they've spotted a deer or a small, red-haired creature.
Maintaining this balance has always been at the heart of our approach. Here's what we've put in place—and what we dream of doing soon.
✅ What we are already doing
- Solar energy production: 20% of our annual consumption covered by our photovoltaic panels.
- Connected thermostats to optimize heating and avoid waste.
- LED bulbs throughout the house.
- Waste sorting with instructions available to tenants.
- Shared vegetable garden whose harvests are shared with tenants for consumption on site.
- Land left fallow to encourage the return of flora and fauna.
- 250-meter hedgerow, planted three years ago: a living refuge.
🌱 Our projects in embryo
- 1,000 L rainwater collector for watering the vegetable garden.
- Chicken coop: We are considering reintroducing a chicken coop to provide our tenants with fresh eggs during their stay.
- Install a hedgehog shelter
- Filtered tap: we installed this type of tap in our accommodation and our tests were very satisfactory, we are considering a future deployment in the gîte to reduce the consumption of plastic bottles.
- Develop partnerships with local producers
- Install one or more birdhouses
