Located in Brittany, the Parc Botanique de Haute Bretagne is a true "world garden", where crops and plant species meet to offer a unique floral spectacle. Created in 1994 by Alain Jouno, a passionate agricultural engineer, this 25-hectare estate is distinguished by its commitment to species conservation and the absence of public subsidies for its operation.

A Sensory Journey Through the Gardens

Inspired by botanical traditions from around the world, the park offers an immersion where mythology, history and spirituality mingle with plant diversity. Among the emblematic gardens, we find:

Best Times to Visit

Each month, the park offers a unique floral palette, here are the ideal times to admire certain emblematic species:

  • March: Camellias, deciduous magnolias, prunus, daffodils.
  • April: Azaleas, embothryums, deciduous magnolias.
  • May: Rhododendrons, cornus, rose bushes, Japanese wisteria, irises.
  • June: Kalmias, ceanothus, peonies, old roses.
  • July: Hydrangeas, moschata roses, daylilies, astilbes.
  • August: Agapanthus, hibiscus, perovskias, fuchsias, echinacea.
  • September: Dahlias, asters, impatiens, lagerstroemias.
  • October and November: Fall foliage of Japanese maples and sasanqua camellias.


Remarkable Blooms

Some varieties offer exceptional flowering at very specific times:

Camellias

  • Camellia sinensis (Chinese tea plant): from September 15.
  • Camellia sasanqua: October 15 - December 15.​
  • Camellia japonica: November 15 - May 15.
  • Camellia williamsii: February 15 - April 15.
  • Camellia reticulata: March 15 - April 15.

Magnolias

  • Deciduous magnolias: March 15 - April 15.
  • Evergreen Magnolias: June 30 - August 15.

Rhododendrons

  • Peak flowering period: April 20 - May 20 (peak May 8).
  • Late varieties: until September.
