🌿 Cycling Tour from Mellé: Nature, Heritage and Granite Art

Just 2 km from the cottage, the charming village of Mellé invites you on a lovely cycling trip through the heart of the Breton countryside. Proudly labeled as a "Rural Heritage Municipality of Brittany", Mellé is the perfect starting point for a scenic ride full of local discoveries.

Before hopping on your bike, take a moment to visit Melléco, an immersive exhibition space located just behind the church. It offers a fascinating insight into the bocage landscape and the region’s eco-friendly practices.

Then, set off on your bike to explore the surrounding villages and hamlets, where you'll find hidden treasures of rural heritage: small chapels, old bread ovens, wash houses, and stone crosses. Along the way, you’ll pass by the remains of old mills, once essential to local life. Many are now hidden by nature or restored as homes—can you spot them?

Take the opportunity to relax in the local cafés in the heart of each village and enjoy the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Don’t forget to look out for the granite sculptures scattered along the route, created by professional artists during the granite symposiums held in 2001, 2007, and 2012. These artworks blend beautifully into the landscape and reflect the area's artistic spirit.

🚴‍♀️ This accessible cycling tour is perfect for families and curious explorers, just a short ride from the Au Lutin Pommé holiday cottage!
