Hiking around La Martais

Discover a lovely walk from La Martais, ideal for exploring the surrounding area and enjoying the local heritage.

Departure and recommendations

The starting point is in La Martais. Remember to park your vehicle without obstructing traffic and avoid parking in front of houses.

On the course

Along the way, you will pass through places full of history. Several information panels mark the route, revealing the secrets of the surrounding houses, some of which are over 400 years old.

At the first crossroads, turn left and take a path bordered by fields. A little further on, on your left, a staircase gives access to a wood. By following the path, you will discover the remains of a building dating from the war, highlighted by an explanatory panel.

The descent that follows is quite steep and will take you first to the rocks, then to the exit of the woods, where a superb panorama of the castle is offered to you.

Back

To continue, go back up on the right along a building with a wavy roof. With a bit of luck, you will see the horses grazing nearby.

Then take the first right to go back into the woods. Follow the path until you find your initial path.
