🌳 In the footsteps of the Cordon des Druides – A mystical hike 14 minutes from Lutin Pommé

Just a 14-minute drive (12.4 km) from Au Lutin Pommé, embark on a walk like no other, between prehistoric mystery, local legends and an enchanted forest. Le Cordon des Druides, in the Fougères forest, is a little-known but fascinating megalithic site.

🪨 An enigmatic alignment in the middle of the forest

In the heart of the Fougères forest, some fifty blocks of white quartz form a strange and winding alignment. The site, called the Druids' Cordon, is composed of three series of stones arranged over nearly 300 meters. Some measure barely 50 cm, while others reach 2 meters in height.

Discovered in the 19th century and listed as a Historic Monument in 1946, this site bears witness to a distant past: that of the first stone builders, in the Neolithic period, well before the very existence of the current forest.

🌿 Legends or reality?

Popular tradition has long attributed these stones to Gallic druids, hence their name. Their white color, unusual in the undergrowth, reinforces the sense of mystery. Some say that telluric forces emanate from the place. Others speak of a primitive astronomical calendar...

But historians believe it was more likely a site with religious or agricultural functions, used more than 5,000 years ago. Whatever the truth, one feels a haunting silence in these places, a strange and peaceful energy that invites respect and contemplation.

🚶‍♂️ A hike for young and old dreamers

A 5.14 km marked forest trail allows you to explore the site in complete tranquility. The route is flat, easy, suitable for children, and very pleasant in mild weather. It crosses a beautiful part of the Fougères forest and leads you to the stones, winding between the trees.

And Diben, in all this?

It is said that the korrigans have always known the secret paths of the forests. Diben, for his part, loves these places where the stones still speak to the wind. He even slept there one night, curled up against a white block, listening to the memories of the ground.

If you hear a quiet rustling or think you see a red strand sticking out of a fern... it might not be your imagination.
